To support our industry and to advance and promote the science of building performance simulation, we are excited to announce a new grant program focused on improving the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of new and existing buildings in Australasia.

The grant is intended to support:

• Education for postgraduate studies in Building Performance Simulation

• Research in the field on Building Performance Simulation

 

A grant of up to $2,000 will be awarded each year (at the discretion of the IBPSA Australasian Board).  Please note that past recipients of this award are not eligible to reapply for this award.

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be:

• A member of IBPSA

• Be resident in Australia or NZ

• Studying (at postgraduate level) or working in a field that is related to building simulation

• Agree to present at a future IBPSA Australasia event on your work, and

• The proposal must be directly related to building simulation.

 

Application Requirements

A maximum two page proposal is required with accompanying CV. Please note any applications of more than two pages will not be assessed. The proposal will be evaluated on the following criteria:

• Relevance to the field of Building Performance Simulation

• The track record of the proposer

• Description of how funds will be spent

• Clear program and quarterly report to IBPSA Australasia on progress of work

• Clear deliverables for IBPSA (ideally within 6 months of completion of the work), its members and the wider industry; for example:

  • An IBPSA Knowledge paper to published on our website

  • Content for relevant IBPSA or related publications

  • Published articles in relevant journals such as Journal of Building Performance Simulation

  • Content for social media, presentation at IBPSA forum

 

By receiving this grant, recipients are agreeing to the following:

• Acknowledgement of IBPSA Australia grant in publications

• Permission to have your photo, bio and your work published on www.ibpsa-australasia.org

• Permission for the work to be used by IBPSA Australia for publication (with approval of author).
